Challenge
My Secret Diary is an innovative app that allows registered users to securely enter their innermost thoughts, with notes being updated instantly without the need for a save button.
The initial challenges involved creating a seamless and intuitive login system that effectively toggles between signup and login forms.
Additionally, the app underwent enhancements to improve its visual appeal for both visitors and registered users, while also ensuring that the database updates occur in real-time as users type.
Solution
I developed the toggle system using jQuery while the forms were crafted in HTML and the remaining scripts utilized PHP, enabling visitors to effortlessly click the “Sign Up” or “Log in” links to access the app, which also includes an option to stay logged in. The database was constructed using MySQL, and all scripts are written in PHP. For styling,
I opted for Bootstrap; while I could have used other frameworks or even my own CSS frameworw, I believe Bootstrap is an ideal choice for this application.
To efficiently pass information to the script and update the database as users jot down their notes in the secret diary, I employed PHP and AJAX, resulting in a fast and secure application that allows you to keep all your private thoughts consolidated in one place and accessible from any device once logged in.

As you may have come to expect from my applications, speed is a defining feature of My Secret Diary as well. The Mobile Speed Mark stands at an impressive 99, while the Desktop Mark reaches the perfect score of 100, just as you would anticipate.
